About Robert Weinstein

Newton, Massachusetts Estate Planning Attorney

My practice is limited to estate planning, elder law and administration of trusts and estates.  My goal is to provide the very highest quality legal work in a comfortable private setting.  My clients value most the close personal attention that I give to each case and the sensitive professional guidance they receive along the way.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in accounting from American University in Washington, D.C. in 1970 and graduated from American University’s Washington College of Law in 1974.  Before attending law school, I became a Certified Public Accountant and worked as an estate planning consultant with one of the world’s largest public accounting firms.  I also earned an LL.M. in taxation from Boston University School of Law in 1976.

For more than twenty years, I practiced estate planning law as a member of two fifty attorney firms in downtown Boston. In 2001, I left the firm of Lane, Altman & Owens and established my own practice in Newton.  The Law Office of Robert Weinstein is located in a wonderfully comfortable office attached to my home in Newton.  My clients find my location here much more convenient to visit than an office in a tower in downtown Boston.

I am a frequent speaker on the subject of estate planning and long-term care planning and am a regular guest on the Family Financial Focus radio show airing on Boston’s WBZ radio each Saturday evening.

I work hard to provide all of my clients with responsive, professional and complete client services.  Unlike many attorneys who bill by the hour in six minute increments for every phone call and email, I bill estate planning projects on a flat fee basis.  This means that you will always know exactly how much your legal work will cost, to the penny, before you hire me.  This also means that you can communicate with me as often as you need without worrying about running up the bill.  You will never receive a surprise bill in the mail.
